投稿须知/期刊简介:
Published under the auspices of the Société Française de Pédiatrie. Articles in French, Abstracts in French and English. Former title: Pédiatrie and Archives Françaises de Pédiatrie. Official organ of the Société Française de Pédiatrie, Archives de Pédiatrie publishes in French original articles and short communications. Special editorials include issues of current interest and praxis-oriented reviews, as well as interviews which provide a forum for the specialists who are confronted with these problems daily. Scientific information and therapeutic innovations are actively updated. Due to the rapid publication procedure, this journal reports on the most recent developments in clinical practice and technical improvements. Major advances in pediatrics over the past ten years have emphasized the necessity for a practical and comprehensive French publication to complement scientific information and teaching, and to provide a link between research, hospital and everyday practice.

Indications for extensively hydrolyzed cow's milk protein in the neonatal period.
A large proportion of prescriptions for extensively hydrolyzed cow's milk protein (CMP) in newborns are not based on any scientific data justifying the indication. Many of these prescriptions are old habits or are based on incomplete data. The aim of this article is to analyze these practices and propose recommendations. The following points are covered: (a) indications for extensively hydrolyzed formula based on studies demonstrating their benefits in these situations-newborns with a proven allergy to CMP and occasional prescription of supplements to breastfeeding; (b) possible indications not based on a high level of evidence-re-initiation of feeding due to necrotizing enterocolitis, short bowel syndrome, re-initiation of feeding of newborns following intestinal surgery, and laparoschisis if neither the mother's own milk nor milk from a lactarium is available; (c) unjustified indications-newborns at risk of atopy, prematurity, severe neurological pathologies, newborns who are hemodynamically unstable and/or have congenital cardiopathy, neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy treated with hypothermia, and newborns with esophageal atresia or diaphragmatic hernia. By following this classification, the prescriber will be guided to use the milk best suited to the pathology, bearing in mind that each situation must be adapted individually and the tolerance and effectiveness of the food reassessed from a nutritional and functional point of view.

Cognitive aid and performance for simulated umbilical venous catheter placement: A randomized trial.
Neonatal resuscitation may require urgent umbilical venous catheter (UVC) placement. Complications can be observed with umbilical venous catheterization, especially in a stressful context. Inspired by the aeronautic environment, medical routine checklists, also called "cognitive aids," secure the equipment and environment for the patients once they are admitted to the operating room. We hypothesized that reading a cognitive aid for UVC placement in the delivery room during neonatal resuscitation simulation scenarios can (a) improve the performance in reducing catheterization duration and (b) can limit complications. This was a prospective single-center randomized study. A total of 23 dyads for a simulation scenario were included: 12 in the control group and 11 in the cognitive aid group. In the cognitive aid group, the cognitive aid was read by the same facilitator for every scenario. No significant difference concerning the duration of the procedure was identified between the cognitive aid and control groups: 412 s [342; 420] vs. 374 s [338;402], respectively (p = 0.781). Nevertheless, there were significantly fewer deviations from hygiene guidelines and improved prevention of air embolism in the cognitive aid group compared with the control group. The UVC insertion time was similar between the control and cognitive aid groups. Moreover, cognitive aid can limit infectious complications or air embolism by allowing caregivers to follow UVC placement standards.
