Studies related to osteosarcoma and metabolism from 1990 to 2022: A visual analysis and bibliometric study.
Osteosarcoma is the most common primary bone tumor, its high incidence of metastasis and poor prognosis have led to a great deal of concern for osteosarcoma. In many cancer types, metabolic processes are important for tumor growth progression, so interfering with the metabolic processes of osteosarcoma may be a therapeutic option to stall osteosarcoma progression. A key mechanism of how metabolic processes contribute to the growth and survival of various cancers, including osteosarcoma, is their ability to support tumor cell metabolism. Research related to this field is a direction of great importance and potential. However, to our knowledge, no bibliometric studies related to this field have been published, and we will fill this research gap.
Publications were retrieved on January 1, 2023 from the 1990-2022 Science Citation Index of the Web of Science Core Collection. The Bibliometrix package in R software, VOSviewer and CiteSpace software were used to analyze our research directions and to visualize global trends and hotspots in osteosarcoma and metabolism related research.
Based on the search strategy, 833 articles were finally filtered. In this area of research related to osteosarcoma metabolism, we found that China, the United States and Japan are the top 3 countries in terms of number of articles published, and the journals and institutions that have published the most research in this area are Journal of bone and mineral research, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In addition, Baldini, Nicola, Reddy, Gs and Avnet, Sofia are the top three authors in terms of number of articles published in studies related to this field. The most popular keywords related to the field in the last 30 years are "metabolism" and "expression", which will guide the possible future directions of the field.
We used Bibliometrix, VOSviewer, and Citespace to visualize and bibliometrically analyze the current status and possible future hotspots of research in the field of osteosarcoma metabolism. Possible future hotspots in this field may focus on the related terms "metabolism", "expression", and "migraation".

Bibliometric analysis and visualisation of research hotspots and frontiers on omics in osteosarcoma.
Omics technology has become a widely applied biological science that can be used to study the etiology, pathogenesis, and treatment of osteosarcoma(OS). Bibliometric analysis is still blank in this field.This study aimed to access the trends and hotspots of omics in OS research through the bibliometric analysis method.
Relevant articles and reviews from 1999 to 2023 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. The data were processed with CiteSpace, and some graphs were generated with Graphpad, VOSviewer, Scimago Graphica, Bibliometrix and R Studio.
A total of 1581 papers were included. China (569, 36.0%) and the United States (523, 33.1%) took the dominant position in the number of published papers, and the links between countries most frequently occurred between North America and East Asia, and between Australia and Europe. Top institutions with the highest number of publications were almost located in the United States, with The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center contributing the most (44, 2.78%). Among the researchers in this field, Cleton-Jansen AM was the author with the highest number of articles in the field (20, 1.27%). According to the keyword cluster analysis, most studies focused on the "comparative genomic hybridization" before 2012. The latest surge words "tumor microenvironment" and "immune infiltration" in the keyword heatmap indicate future research directions.
Our study provided the current status of the omics research in OS on a global level and the hottest directions. The field of omics in OS was developing rapidly, and the main focuses of research were revealing the characteristics of tumor microenvironment of OS and how to activate the immune system to fight cancer cells. Research on the immune microenvironment and its relationship with genetic aberrations of OS will be a priority in the future.

Emerging trends and research foci of oncolytic virotherapy for central nervous system tumors: A bibliometric study.
Central nervous system tumor (CNST) is one of the most complicated and lethal forms of human tumors with very limited treatment options. In recent years, growing evidence indicates that oncolytic virotherapy (OVT) has emerged as a promising therapeutic strategy for CNSTs. And a considerable amount of literature on OVT-CNSTs has been published. However, there are still no studies summarizing the global research trends and hotspots of this field through a bibliometric approach. To fulfill this knowledge gap, bibliometric analysis was conducted based on all publications relating to OVT-CNSTs since 2000s.
We searched the Web of Science Core Collection for all relevant studies published between 2000 and 2022. Four different tools (online analysis platform, R-bibliometrix, CiteSpace and VOSviewer) were used to perform bibliometric analysis and network visualization, including annual publication output, active journals, contribution of countries, institutions, and authors, references, as well as keywords.
A total of 473 articles and reviews were included. The annual number of publications on OVT-CNSTs showed a significant increasing trend. Molecular Therapy and Cancer Research were the most active and co-cited journals, respectively. In terms of contributions, there is no doubt that the United States occupied a leading position with the most publications (n=307, 64.9%) and the highest H-index (57). The institution and author that contributed the largest number of publications were Ohio State University and Chiocca EA, respectively. As can be seen from citation analysis, the current studies mainly focused on preclinical and phase I/II clinical results of various oncolytic virus for CNSTs treatment. Keywords co-occurrence and burst analysis revealed that the following research topics including immunotherapy, T-cells, tumor microenvironment, vaccine, blood-brain-barrier, checkpoint inhibitors, macrophage, stem cell, and recurrent glioblastoma have been research frontiers of this field and also have great potential to continue to be research hotspots in the future.
There has been increasing attention on oncolytic viruses for use as CNSTs therapeutics. Oncolytic immunotherapy is a topic of great concern in this field. This bibliometric study provides a comprehensive analysis of the knowledge base, research hotspots, development perspective in the field of OVT-CNSTs, which could become an essential reference for scholars in this area.

Bibliometric study and visualization of cellular senescence associated with osteoarthritis from 2009 to 2023.
Osteoarthritis is a common degenerative joint disease that is highly prevalent in the elderly population. Along with the occurrence of sports injuries, osteoarthritis is gradually showing a younger trend. Osteoarthritis has many causative factors, and its pathogenesis is currently unknown. Cellular senescence is a stable form of cell cycle arrest exhibited by cells in response to external stimuli and plays a role in a variety of diseases. And it is only in the last decade or so that cellular senescence has gradually become cross-linked with osteoarthritis. However, there is no comprehensive bibliometric analysis in this field. The aim of this study is to present the current status and research hotspots of cellular senescence in the field of osteoarthritis, and to predict the future trends of cellular senescence in osteoarthritis research from a bibliometric perspective.
This study included 298 records of cellular senescence associated with osteoarthritis from 2009 to 2023, with data from the Web of Science Core Collection database. CiteSpace, Scimago Graphica software, VOSviewer, and the R package "bibliometrix" software were used to analyze regions, institutions, journals, authors, and keywords to predict recent trends in cellular senescence related to osteoarthritis research.
The number of publications related to cellular senescence associated with osteoarthritis is increasing year by year. China and the United States contribute more than 70% of the publications and are the mainstay of research in this field. Central South University is the most active institution with the largest number of publications. International Journal of Molecular Sciences is the most popular journal in the field with the largest number of publications, while Osteoarthritis and Cartilage is the most cited journal. Loeser, Richard F. is not only the most prolific author, but also the most frequently cited author, contributing greatly to the field.
In the last decade or so, this is the first bibliometric study that systematically describes the current status and development trend of research on cellular senescence associated with osteoarthritis. The study comprehensively and systematically summarizes and concludes the research hotspots and development trends, providing valuable references for researchers in this field.
