Global Trends in Research of Gouty Arthritis Over Past Decade: A Bibliometric Analysis.
Gouty arthritis (GA), as a multifactorial disease, is characterised by intense pain, active inflammation symptoms, and swollen joints. It has utterly complex pathogenesis, of which the amount of research publications on GA has increased during the last few decades. A bibliometric analysis was carried out to investigate the trends, frontiers, and hot spots in global scientific output in GA research over the last decade. We retrieved the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-Expanded) of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) for publications and recorded information published from 2012 to 2021. we carried out the bibliometric analysis and visualisation analysis of the overall distribution of annual outputs, leading countries, active institutions, journals, authors, co-cited references, and keywords with the VOSviewer and CiteSpace. The impact and quality of papers were assessed using a global citation score (GCS). We retrieved 2052 articles and reviews in total. The annual number of publications (Np) related to GA research has increased during the latest decade. China published the most papers, and the USA achieved the highest H-index and number of citations (Nc). The League of European Research Universities (LERU) and Clinical Rheumatology (Clin Rheumatol) are the most productive institutions and periodicals. The total GCS of the paper written by Kottgen, A. in 2013 was 479, ranking the first. The most common keywords were "Gout," "hyperuricemia," and "gouty arthritis." This research revealed that though there was a slight fluctuation in publications related to GA, the Np raised on the whole. China was an enormous creator, and the USA was an influential nation in this domain. The top three contributor authors were Dalbeth, N., Singh, JA., and Choi, HK. There were few investigations on the treatment of GA by Chinese medicine monomer, and the "mechanism," "pathway", "nf- kappa-b", "injury", "receptor", and "animal model" were growing research hotspots. Our research illustrated the hotspots of research and development trends in the research field of GA during the last decade. Recognition of the most critical indicators (researchers, countries, institutes, and journals for the release of GA research), hotspots in the research field of GA can be helpful for countries, scholars, and policymakers in this field to understand GA better make decisions.

Global trends in research of glutamate in epilepsy during past two decades: A bibliometric analysis.
Epilepsy affects more than 70 million people in the world. It is characterized by recurrent spontaneous seizures, and it is related to many neurological, cognitive, and psychosocial consequences. Glutamate neurotransmitter dysfunction has essential functions in the pathophysiology of epilepsy. In this work, bibliometric analysis was conducted to explore the trends, frontiers, and hotspots of the global scientific output of glutamate in epilepsy research in the past 20 years. The Science Citation Index Expanded of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) was searched to obtain information on publications and records published between 2002 and 2021. VOSviewer and CiteSpace were used to conduct bibliometric and visual analyses on the overall distribution of annual output, major countries, active institutions, journals, authors, commonly cited literature, and keywords. The impact and quality of the papers were assessed using the global citation score (GCS). Four thousand eight hundred ninety-one publications were retrieved in total. During the past two decades, the number of publications (Np) associated with glutamate in epilepsy has risen yearly. The United States has published the most papers; its H-index and number of citations are also the highest. The League of European Research Universities (LERU) was the most productive institution. In 2016, the total score of the paper written by Zhang Y was 854, ranking first. The keywords that appear most frequently are "epilepsy," "glutamate," "temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE)," "hippocampus," and "seizures." This study showed that although the publications related to epileptic glutamate fluctuated slightly, the Np increased overall. The United States is a great creator and influential country in this field. The first three authors are Eid, T., Aronica, E., and Smolders, I. "spectrum," "animal model," "inflammation," "mutation," "dysfunction," and "prefrontal cortex" are increasing research hotspots. By recognizing the most critical indicators (researchers, countries, research institutes, and journals of glutamate release in epilepsy research), the research hotspot of glutamate in epilepsy could help countries, scholars, and policymakers in this field enhance their understanding of the role of glutamate in epilepsy and make decisions.

Worldwide research trends on femur head necrosis (2000-2021): a bibliometrics analysis and suggestions for researchers.
Osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) is a common and stubborn disease. The main causes are venous stasis of the femoral head, arterial blood supply damage, bone cell and bone marrow death, and bone tissue necrosis and subsequent repair obstacles. Over the past 22 years, the number of papers on ONFH has, overall, continued to increase.
Using bibliometrics, we investigated the trends, frontiers, and hotspots of global scientific output in the past 22 years. We searched Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) and retrieved information associated with papers and records published between 2000 and 2021. We used VOSviewer and CiteSpace to conduct bibliometric analysis and visual analysis on the overall distribution of annual output, major countries, active institutions, journals, authors, commonly cited literature, and keywords. The impact and quality of the papers were assessed using the global citation score (GCS).
We retrieved a total of 2006 articles and reviews. Over the past 22 years, the number of publications (NP) increased. China ranked first in terms of NP, while the United States had the highest h-index and the highest number of citations (NC). Shanghai Jiao Tong University and International Orthopaedics were the institution and periodical, respectively. The paper written by Mont et al. in 2006 had the highest total GCS score, at 379. The top three keywords were "ischemic necrosis", "osteonecrosis", and "hip joint". Although there was a fluctuation in publications associated with ONFH, overall, the NP increased. China was the most prolific in this area, while the United States was the most influential country. The top 3 authors in terms of NP were Zhang, Motomura, and Zhao. Areas of focus in ONFH over recent years include signal pathway, genetic differentiation, glucocorticoid-induced osteogenesis, induced ischemic necrosis and osteogenesis.
Our bibliometrics analysis revealed the research hotspots and rapid development trends of ONFH research in the past 22 years. The most critical indicators [researchers, countries, research institutions, and journals publishing osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) research] relevant to the research hotspots in the field of ONFH research were analyzed.

Mapping Knowledge Structure and Global Research Trends in Gout: A Bibliometric Analysis From 2001 to 2021.
The incidence and prevalence of gout have been steadily increasing globally, which has resulted in gout research attracting consistently increased attention. This study aimed to visualize the knowledge structure and research trends in gout research through bibliometrics to help understand the future development of basic and clinical research.
Articles and reviews on gout from 2001 to 2021 were extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection database. CiteSpace and VOSviewer software were used to visualize the knowledge network of countries, institutions, authors, references, and keywords in this field. SPSS and Microsoft Excel software were used for curve fitting and correlation analysis.
A total of 3,259 articles and reviews were included. The number of publications about gout significantly increased yearly. Publications were mainly concentrated in North America, Europe, Oceania, and East Asia. The USA contributed most with 1,025 publications, followed by China and New Zealand. After adjusting for publications by population size and Gross Domestic Product (GDP), New Zealand ranked in the first place. GDP and international collaboration were significantly correlated with scientific productivity for gout research. University of Auckland and Professor Dalbeth Nicola were the most prolific institutions and influential authors, respectively. Rheumatology was the most productive journal for gout research. Gout research hotspots have shifted over time in the following order: clinical features, pathological mechanisms, complications, gouty arthritis, epidemiology, and dual-energy computed tomography to drug clinical trials, which can be observed from the keyword analysis and co-cited reference cluster analysis.
This study found that research on gout is flourishing. The development and experimentation of drugs for the prevention and treatment of gouty arthritis would be the focus of current research and developmental trends in future research.

Global Trends in Research of NF-κB in Melanoma from 2000 to 2021: A Study of Bibliometric Analysis.
In the pathogenesis of melanoma, NF-κB is a key signaling pathway. Appling bibliometric analysis, we identify the frontiers and hotspots about NF-κB in melanoma, as well as distinguishing features of scientific research and output all over the world during the past 22 years. 2226 publications published from 2000 to 2021 and related information were retrieved based on Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-expanded) of Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). VOSviewer and Citespace were used to analyze bibliometric indicators and visualize the hotspots and research trend of studies on NF-κB in melanoma. The results indicated that despite fluctuations, the number of publications (Np) related to the research of NF-κB in melanoma per year increased over the past 22 years. The USA had the most publications. H-index and the number of citations (Nc) of the USA were also in the first place. PloS One was the most productive journal, and League of European Research Universities (LERU) was the most productive affiliation. Recently, the keywords "NF-kappa-b," "melanoma," "apoptosis," "expression," "activation," "cancer," and "metastasis" appeared most frequently. Our study suggested that articles associated with NF-κB in melanoma tend to increase. In this field, the USA was an influential country and a big producer. Most publications focused on clinical and basic research in the past 22 years, and keywords "tumor necrosis factor" and "trail induced apoptosis" had the highest burst strength.
