A bibliometric analysis of COVID-19 publications in nursing by visual mapping method.
This study conducted a bibliometric analysis of nursing publications on the COVID-19 between 1 January 2020, and 24 October 2021.
COVID-19 has been a hot research topic that has attracted many researchers from various disciplines. One of the ways to combat the COVID-19 pandemic is to produce knowledge and present it with a holistic approach. Therefore, it is crucial to make bibliometric and content analyses of scientific publications. Scientific data should be evaluated to keep up with the developments in the nursing profession and practices during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Data were collected from the Web of Science database. The sample consisted of 1280 publications that met the inclusion criteria. The data were analysed using descriptive content and bibliometric analysis. The VOSviewer, a mapping and visualization software program, was used for bibliometric analysis.
The United States is one of the countries with the highest number of publications, citations and international cooperation during the pandemic. Of all these publications, 1183 (92.42%) are original articles. The Journal of Nursing Management has the highest number of publications and citations. The publications focus primarily on the topics of COVID-19, pandemic, nursing, coronavirus and nurses. The current topics that the publications address are online education, online learning, practice, nursing student, perceived stress, stress, fear, quality of life and experience to determine the impacts of the pandemic on mental health nursing education.
The COVID-19 pandemic has an impact on nursing, and the number of publications is increasing worldwide. In the early days of the pandemic, researchers focused on the topics of coronavirus infections, infection control, global health, health policy and nursing policy. Afterward, they addressed current topics, such as education and the psychological effects of the pandemic.
Our results will help nurse managers identify issues related to COVID-19 that have not been researched yet and have not been adequately explained in their own institutions. They will also help them choose appropriate journals to get their studies published, appropriate countries to cooperate with and access information about the studies on the subject matter. Our results will also help them make evidence-based decisions about mental health and nursing education.

Bibliometric analysis of core competencies associated nursing management publications.
This study aimed to identify high-impact papers on global nursing to determine and analyse the publication of articles on core competencies in nursing-related journals and the research trends in the era of globalization.
Bibliometrics has been shown to be an effective method for analysing publications. Through bibliometrics, nursing managers and researchers can understand the trends of high-impact international nursing core competencies research, identify mainstream research directions and obtain relevant knowledge and information, thereby facilitating the translation of research outcomes into nursing management practice.
The study adopted bibliometric analysis and the VOSviewer software to explore dynamic publication trends and analyse the current situation of nursing research from a comprehensive development perspective, which was realized by searching for nursing core competencies papers in the Web of Science (WoS) database, calculating citations and determining the trends of the most influential papers.
Nursing core competencies research grew rapidly between 1997 and 2022. Countries with the most core competencies publications were the United States, England, Australia and Canada. The Journal of Nursing Management has attracted substantial attention from researchers worldwide. Education, Management and Nurses were the most frequently used keywords in the study. A total of 534 papers were retrieved from the WoS database with the main research fields, including nursing, business economics, public environmental occupational health and health care science services.
Equipping nursing graduates with core competencies has always been an important goal of global medical and nursing education. This study analysed papers across 35 years, most of which were published in the Journal of Nursing Management. In addition, the study identified some of the main research topics of nursing management, such as the integration of education with nursing management and the cultivation of nurses' core competencies. The study also provides a fresh review of highly cited articles. The results of the study show that high-quality articles play the role of improving both the quality and the quantity of related research. By analysing the trends of the research on core competencies, this study lays a bibliometric foundation for researchers regarding international journals, hot topics and relevant fields. In addition, the highly cited articles reveal new perspectives for the nursing field, providing inspiration for nursing management and education researchers.
This study provides scholars and managers with an overview of the current situation of nursing management research and the development of benchmark journals. The study provides researchers not only with a better understanding of various international journals, allowing them to transition out of traditional thinking in the era of science and technology, but also with innovative thinking by combining research with nursing management. The results of this study invite nursing managers to study relevant topics of core competencies and integrate information technology to education, management and nurses, thereby contributing to nursing management and educational research.

Knowledge, attitudes, and practices about COVID-19 pandemic: a bibliometric analysis.
In order to avoid high rates of COVID-19 infection, one of the main tasks that must be performed is to improve the knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) about the virus. In this sense, Health Education is an essential tool for dealing with the virus. The aim of health education is to educate individuals through educational, motivational, skill development, and awareness techniques, and an understanding of the main needs of KAP is essential for this. Many KAP studies were published during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the aim of the present study was to analyze these publications through a bibliometric study.
A bibliometric analysis of the publications on KAP and COVID-19 was conducted in the Web of Science Core Collection database. The RStudio Bibliometrix and VOSviewer packages were utilized to analyze the scientific production, authors, citations, countries, publishers, journals, research areas, and keywords.
Of the 1,129 articles published, 777 were included in the study. The year with the most publications and citations was 2021. Three authors were underlined (all from Ethiopia), due to the number of articles published, the number of citations, and the collaboration networks established. As for the countries, most of the publications came from Saudi Arabia, while China obtained the most citations. PLOS One and Frontiers in Public Health published the most articles on the subject. The most frequent keywords were knowledge, attitudes, practices, and COVID-19. At the same time, others were identified based on the population group analyzed.
This is the first bibliometric study on KAP and COVID-19. The significant number of publications identified on KAP and its relationship to the COVID-19 pandemic, in the span of only 3 years, indicates the increased interest in this area. The study provides relevant information to researchers who are approaching this subject for the first time. It is a useful tool that can stimulate new studies and collaborations between researchers from different countries, areas and approaches. At the methodological level, a step-by-step guide is provided for future authors who wish to perform a bibliometric analysis.

Global Trends in Nursing-Related Research on COVID-19: A Bibliometric Analysis.
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has significantly impacted healthcare, especially the nursing field. This study aims to explore the current status and hot topics of nursing-related research on COVID-19 using bibliometric analysis.
Between 2019 and 2022, publications regarding nursing and COVID-19 were retrieved from the Web of Science core collection. We conducted an advanced search using the following search query string: TS = ("Novel coronavirus 2019" or "Coronavirus disease 2019" or "COVID 19" or "2019-nCOV" or "SARS-CoV-2" or "coronavirus-2") and TS = ("nursing" or "nurse" or "nursing-care" or "midwife"). Bibliometric parameters were extracted, and Microsoft Excel 2010 and VOSviewer were utilized to identify the largest contributors, including prolific authors, institutions, countries, and journals. VOSviewer and CiteSpace were used to analyze the knowledge network, collaborative maps, hotspots, and trends in this field.
A total of 5,267 papers were published between 2020 and 2022. The findings are as follows: the USA, China, and the UK are the top three prolific countries; the University of Toronto, the Harvard Medical School, the Johns Hopkins University, and the Huazhong University of Science & Technology are the top four most productive institutions; Gravenstein, Stefan, and White, Elizabeth M. from Brown University (USA) are the most prolific authors; The International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health is the most productive journal; "COVID-19," "SARS-CoV-2," "nurse," "mental health," "nursing home," "nursing education," "telemedicine," "vaccine-related issues" are the central topics in the past 2 years.
Nursing-related research on COVID-19 has gained considerable attention worldwide. In 2020, the major hot topics included "SARS-CoV-2," "knowledge," "information teaching," "mental health," "psychological problems," and "nursing home." In 2021 and 2022, researchers were also interested in topics such as "nursing students," "telemedicine," and "vaccine-related issues," which require further investigation.

Trends and hot topics in nurse empowerment research: A bibliometric analysis.
The characteristics of the publications on nursing empowerment should be investigated in order to get an idea about the development of the field and to determine the developments in nursing practices and research. This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of the current knowledge structure and developmental process in nurse empowerment by using bibliometric methods.
The data of this retrospective descriptive study were obtained from the Web of Science (WoS). All relevant studies conducted before 2020 were included in the study. The data analysis was conducted with Excel, SPSS and VOSviewer.
Five hundred eighty-nine studies conducted between 1974-2019 were included in the study. It was found that 72.15% of these studies were journal articles and these studies were conducted by 1,450 authors. The studies were published in 109 journals and were produced by researchers from 49 different countries. Also 47.5% of these studies were conducted in the United States. Hot topics were "empowerment", "nursing," "structural empowerment," "nurses," "job satisfaction" and "psychological empowerment."
There has been a noteworthy increase in the number of studies on nurse empowerment and this field offers an active field of study for nursing researchers. The focus of the studies varies from nurses to nurse managers.
