Conflict in nursing studies: A bibliometric analysis of the top 100 cited papers.

This study aimed to identify and investigate the main characteristics of the top 100 most cited studies on conflict in published in nursing category in the Web of Science database using bibliometric and social network analysis methods. A retrospective bibliometric analysis was used. The study data were obtained from the Web of Science (WoS) database. The top 100 studies with the highest number of citations were included in the study. The study data were analysed with Excel and SPSS and they were visualized with VOSviewer. It was concluded that the studies in the research were published in 38 different journals between 1974-2019 and they were conducted by 245 different authors from 24 different countries. It was further reported that the Journal of Advanced Nursing was the most productive journal and the USA was the most productive country. The most commonly used keywords were "nurse," "conflict," "nursing," "job satisfaction," "work-family conflict" and "ethical conflict." The issue of conflict is a growing field of scientific study for nursing researchers. The quality of researches will be certainly enhanced in future with the studies published in journals with high impact factors. The research of the top 100 most cited paper is a new and innovative bibliometric approach to understand nursing literature. There is very little information about the development, structure and characteristics of the existing mass of knowledge on conflict in nursing studies. The study findings establish a basis of information for planning further studies and providing guidance. In addition, this study provides researchers, scientific journals, institutions and countries with an opportunity to assess and compare their own performance in conflict literature in nursing studies. However, the fact that the most cited studies in the field of conflict in nursing is in demand by journals with high impact factor is a source of motivation for researchers studying in this field.

The top 100 highly cited articles on anterior cruciate ligament from 2000 to 2019: A bibliometric and visualized analysis.

Bibliometrics can trace the overall research trend in a specific field. To our knowledge, there has been no comprehensive bibliometric analysis of all anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) research from 2000-2019. We provided a bibliometric and visualized analysis of the top 100 highly-cited articles on ACL indexed by the Web of Science (WoS) to provide researchers with the present research status and the potential direction of ACL research. A bibliometric and visualized analysis of the top 100 highly-cited articles on ACL may identify the research trends, popular journals, core countries, influential institutions and authors in this field. We obtained data from the WoS Core Collection on February 20, 2020. Qualitative and quantitative analyses were conducted based on the WoS. Collaboration and keywords analysis was performed using the VOSviewer software. The top 100 highly-cited literatures included 88 articles and 12 reviews. The average total citations was 325 (ranging 197 to 1,423). The article with 1432 citations published by Hewett TE et al. in 2005 was the most influential reference. Sixteen cohort studies and 14 clinical randomized controlled trials were included among the 100 literatures. Twenty-three journals published the top 100 literatures. The American Journal of Sports Medicine published 44 papers with 15,665 citations. The USA published 65 highly-cited articles. The University of Pittsburgh published 13 literatures with 3,966 citations. Hewett TE published 11 papers with 4,806 citations. Extensive collaboration existed worldwide. Reconstruction, kinematics, posterolateral bundle, in-situ forces, neuromuscular control, long-term follow-up, tunnel placement, and prevention were the most common keywords. In this field, The American Journal of Sports Medicine was the most influential journal. The USA was the most productive and influential country. Researchers and institutions from North America and Europe contributed the most. Regarding the treatments for ACL injuries, we do need well-reported and good-quality enduring randomized trials to assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of current treatments. Bibliometric analysis of core competencies associated nursing management publications.

This study aimed to identify high-impact papers on global nursing to determine and analyse the publication of articles on core competencies in nursing-related journals and the research trends in the era of globalization. Bibliometrics has been shown to be an effective method for analysing publications. Through bibliometrics, nursing managers and researchers can understand the trends of high-impact international nursing core competencies research, identify mainstream research directions and obtain relevant knowledge and information, thereby facilitating the translation of research outcomes into nursing management practice. The study adopted bibliometric analysis and the VOSviewer software to explore dynamic publication trends and analyse the current situation of nursing research from a comprehensive development perspective, which was realized by searching for nursing core competencies papers in the Web of Science (WoS) database, calculating citations and determining the trends of the most influential papers. Nursing core competencies research grew rapidly between 1997 and 2022. Countries with the most core competencies publications were the United States, England, Australia and Canada. The Journal of Nursing Management has attracted substantial attention from researchers worldwide. Education, Management and Nurses were the most frequently used keywords in the study. A total of 534 papers were retrieved from the WoS database with the main research fields, including nursing, business economics, public environmental occupational health and health care science services. Equipping nursing graduates with core competencies has always been an important goal of global medical and nursing education. This study analysed papers across 35 years, most of which were published in the Journal of Nursing Management. In addition, the study identified some of the main research topics of nursing management, such as the integration of education with nursing management and the cultivation of nurses' core competencies. The study also provides a fresh review of highly cited articles. The results of the study show that high-quality articles play the role of improving both the quality and the quantity of related research. By analysing the trends of the research on core competencies, this study lays a bibliometric foundation for researchers regarding international journals, hot topics and relevant fields. In addition, the highly cited articles reveal new perspectives for the nursing field, providing inspiration for nursing management and education researchers. This study provides scholars and managers with an overview of the current situation of nursing management research and the development of benchmark journals. The study provides researchers not only with a better understanding of various international journals, allowing them to transition out of traditional thinking in the era of science and technology, but also with innovative thinking by combining research with nursing management. The results of this study invite nursing managers to study relevant topics of core competencies and integrate information technology to education, management and nurses, thereby contributing to nursing management and educational research.

Bibliometric analysis of six nursing journals from the Web of Science, 2012-2017.

The purpose of this study was to perform a bibliometric analysis of the six most important nursing journals according to the impact factor of the Science Citation Index through Web of Science® . The following journals were included: International Journal of Nursing Studies, Nurse Education Today, Journal of Nursing Scholarship, Nursing Outlook, Worldviews on Evidence-Based Nursing and the Journal of Advanced Nursing. In the nursing field, bibliometric analysis and maps have been used to analyse the production of some journals but not for the comparison of different journals. Using descriptive bibliometrics, we studied scientific production of different journals and bibliometric maps were used to visualize the content of published articles. The six journals included showed that 3,937 articles were written by 1,1371 authors from 2,980 institutions and 84 countries from 2012 - 2017. Journal of Advanced Nursing had a greater number of publications and citations. The most prolific authors showed a tendency to publish first in Journal of Advanced Nursing and then in International Journal of Nursing Studies and Nurse Education Today. The frequency of citation was higher in International Journal of Nursing Studies followed by Journal of Advanced Nursing. The most collaborative authors and those with the most co-citations published more than half of their publications in Journal of Advanced Nursing. The topics most commonly researched by these authors were job satisfaction, collaborative practices, and nurse leaders. This bibliometric analysis contributes to the understanding of the current state of nursing research and its evolution.
