Community Geneticsí is a unique new international forum for research in the expanding field of community genetics, an area of medical care responding to the explosion of developments in human genetics which impact both the individual and society. Community genetics services involve activities such as genetic screening, routine preconceptional and prenatal consultation, registration of genetic and congenital anomalies, and public education on genetic and related ethical issues. The journal ëCommunity Geneticsí will be multidisciplinary in scope, covering medical genetics, epidemiology, primary care, community medicine and public health education, and will also include psychological, social, legal and ethical aspects. Aiming to improve the dialogue between researchers, practitioners and lay members of the community, the journal will feature original research papers, reviews and short communications, as well as news, opinion and correspondence sections.
