The Journal of Family Psychology (JFP) is a publication of the American Psychological Association. It is considered one of the premier journals in the field of family research. Family psychology is a complex field of scientific investigation as it includes multiple areas of study. First and foremost, it includes a systems perspective of multiple influences on relationships. It also takes a developmental perspective of how relationships are formed and change over time and recognizes that culture is important. It also includes practice components in how to affect real and meaningful change in couple, parent, and family relationships. Thus, the scope of the journal is quite broad.
