Biochimie is a multi-topical journal, publishing original work as well as review articles and mini-reviews in all areas of biology (enzymology, genetics, immunology, microbiology, structure of macromolecules, etc.), provided that the approach adopted stems from biochemistry, biophysics or molecular biology. Interesting nucleotide sequence data are welcome.

Biochimie has an open access mirror journal, Biochimie Open. Both journals share the same aims and scope, editorial team, submission system and rigorous peer review. The difference between the journals is the access model under which the journals will publish your work and the indexation status. The journals publish original work, review articles, graphical reviews, and mini-reviews in broad areas of biology, including biochemistry, enzymology, molecular and cell biology, metabolic regulation, genetics, immunology, microbiology, structural biology, genomics, proteomics, and molecular mechanisms of disease, provided that the approach adopted stems from biochemistry, biophysics or molecular biology. Both journals publish exclusively in English. Types of paper: Original Research articles, short communications, review articles, graphical reviews, and mini-reviews, hypotheses, letters to the Editor, commenting on papers published in Biochimie. Authors will have the choice, once their article is accepted, of publishing in Biochimie free of charge or publishing with open access in Biochimie Open. The option of publishing in Biochimie Open offers authors the widest possible forum for their work, which is made freely available to all readers in all countries and may help authors satisfy the requirements of funding agencies for open access publication. Authors of articles in Biochimie Open retain copyright over their published work, and articles accepted by either journal typically appear online within one week.
