The Netherlands Journal of Medicine publishes original articles and reviews in all relevant fields of internal medicine. In addition to reports of original clinical and experimental studies, reviews on topics of interest or importance, case reports, book reviews and letters to the Editor are welcomed. The Brief Reports section allows for the publication of concise reports on original work, while Case Reports, which are relevant for understanding the pathophysiology or clinical presentation of internal diseases may also be accepted under this heading. Furthermore, book reviews and a correspondence section are regular items in the Journal.An International Advisory Board has been established, consisting of outstanding scientists, all distinguished investigators in various fields of internal medicine. The journal regularly publishes special issues and supplements.

Dysphagia caused by esophageal tuberculosis.
:This report describes two patients with dysphagia who appeared to have esophageal tuberculosis. One patient had a fistula draining into a mediastinal mass. Both patients responded promptly to treatment with tuberculostatics. Surgery was not required. Esophageal tuberculosis is a rare entity.
